PRESS RELEASE

On 22 May 2014 the 9 th International Conference on Transit and Transport Potential TransEurasia- 2014 will take place within the 7th Astana Economic Forum. Title of the forthcoming Conference: Heritage and Revival of Great Silk Way.

About 300 delegates are expected to participate in the Conference from more than 20 countries, including representatives of transport authorities of the European, Asian, the CIS, Baltic states , diplomatic corps, about 15 international and financial organizations, about 100 foreign transportation companies and more than 60 major transport companies of Kazakhstan.

Within the Conference it is expected to be signed the Agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan , Georgia and Turkey on the Silk Wind project aimed at launch of the container train "China-Kazakhstan-Caspian Sea-Caucasus-Turkey-Europe".

Moreover, within the Conference, on 20-22 May 2014 the International exhibition "Transit Kazakhstan-2014" will take place in the exhibition center "Korme", at which the last achievements of the transport industry of the Eurasian region will be provided.

Additional activities within the Conference will be Black Sea and Caspian Transit session to be hold by the Intergovernmental Commission of TRACECA and the 2 nd meeting of Ministers of Transport of the Turkic Council to be hosted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan .

We will remind, the International conference TransEurasia- 2014 has acted since 1997 as a discussion platform for development of transport infrastructure, dynamics of transit transportations in the Eurasian region, and also demonstration of modern transport and logistic systems for transit.

Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan plans carrying out panel session Social partnership. Allocation of responsibility to ensure productive employment and the expansion of decent work within the VII Astana economic forum which will take place in Astana on May 21 2014.

The Deputy prime minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan G.N.Abdykalikova, the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of RK T.K.Duysenova, deputies of Parliament of RK, the chairman of Federation of labor unions of RK A.K.Kusainov, the chairman of the board of National chamber of businessmen of Kazakhstan A.I.Myrzakhmetov, the Doctor of Economics, professor B.L.Tatibekov, and also representatives of the international organizations will take part in work of panel session - the secretary general of the International association of social security Hans-Horst Konkolevski; Director of Technical Support Decent Work and the ILO for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Dimitrina Dimitrova; doctor, founder of NPO "Initiative - globalization for the common good "Kamran Mofid; executive director of the Russian-Singapore business forum Michael Tey; chief specialist on international labor standards, Technical Support Group on Decent Work and the ILO Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Alan Pels; Chief Adviser ILO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia France Auer; Director of the Employment Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kirsanov and many others.

Work of panel session will be built round the questions actual today concerning the social and labor sphere:

  • consolidation of the social partners in order to achieve productive employment and decent work for social-economic development of Kazakhstan ;
  • the problem of youth unemployment during the crisis;
  • formation of National system of qualifications;
  • increase the social responsibility of business in the area of labor practices and training ;
  • social security and social insurance in the conditions of globalization.

During panel session as expected there will be a number of recommendations about taking measures which will promote economic growth taking into account distribution of responsibility of the parties within social partnership (The government, associations of employees and employers), and productive employment in conditions of respect for the fundamental principles of law in the labor protection sphere.
