Kazakh President hails nation’s triumph over major difficulties

The head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, took part in the solemn ceremony of presenting state awards and prizes.

Addressing the participants of the event, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated them on the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence and emphasized the special significance of this holiday for our people.

“From a historical point of view, we laid the foundations of a new Kazakhstan in a short time. We have become a strong and respected state with a strong economy. This became possible thanks, first of all, to the far-sighted policy of Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and the selfless work of all Kazakhstanis. The success of any state depends on its citizens. This is natural. A state with powerful human capital is able to overcome all difficulties. During the period of Independence, our people have demonstrated solidarity and patriotism. Undoubtedly, our today's achievements are a common victory of all Kazakhstanis. Many of our citizens have made a significant contribution to the development of the new Kazakhstan. On this significant day, I express my sincere gratitude to all citizens of our country for their hard work,” the President thanked.

As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated, the 30th anniversary of Independence is a significant milestone in the history of our centuries-old statehood, an important milestone in the annals of modern Kazakhstan. According to him, over the years, our country has come a long way, marked by significant achievements and overcoming difficult challenges.

“The overwhelming majority of the country's citizens, through their creative work, make a significant contribution to the building of a strong and progressive state. Today, rewarding you, we express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to the prosperity of Kazakhstan. You have shown a vivid example of genuine patriotism, high professionalism and selfless work. The younger generation looks up to you. A year ago, I talked about the need to celebrate the anniversary with concrete achievements, without the hustle and bustle and unnecessary costs. In the year of the 30th anniversary of Independence, new large-scale reforms were launched. Therefore, there is every reason to consider this year a productive one. We are modernizing the economy and social sphere. Despite the pandemic, the state provides support to domestic business,” said the Head of State. In his speech, the President noted the progressive development of the economy and social sphere, including industry, agriculture, the construction industry, and the financial sector. Large infrastructure projects are being implemented in the regions. Comprehensive transformation in the field of education and health care continues. The state fulfills its social obligations by steadily increasing pensions, benefits and wages.

“Great changes have taken place in the public administration system. I have approved 10 national projects aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens and strengthening the country's competitiveness. Serious changes are taking place in the social and political sphere. The package of political reforms I have proposed is being implemented in stages. For the first time in the history of independent Kazakhstan, direct elections of rural akims were held. In June this year, I signed a decree on further measures in the field of human rights. This document is aimed at a comprehensive modernization of the law enforcement sector. Concrete measures are being taken to gradually develop public dialogue. All this will allow our citizens to take an active part in decision-making and public administration. Our goal is an effective state and a just society. This strategic vector remains unchanged. We are facing large-scale tasks to further improve the well-being of the people, to strengthen our sacred Independence," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The head of state announced his order to the chairmen of both boards of the Parliament, the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State to visit the regions of the country on the eve of Independence Day to meet with local residents and present state awards to distinguished citizens.
