Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency Marat Akhmetzhanov. The President was reported on the results of the work of the Agency in 2021 and the investigation of ongoing criminal cases.
Marat Akhmetzhanov briefed the Head of State on plans to implement the approved Anti-Corruption Policy Concept for 2022-2026. So, now the Parliament is considering a draft law providing for the introduction of liability for unjust enrichment and formation of a system for protecting whistleblowers of corruption. This rule will allow to control the income and expenses of civil servants.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed that as part of the implementation of the Concept, all state bodies would be involved in the fight against corruption. Each department will assign persons responsible for completeness of the measures taken to combat corruption.
The President supported the proposed approaches to the implementation of the Concept and instructed to strengthen the coordinating role of the Agency in this direction. The Head of State took this work under special control.
Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to continue systematic work to eliminate the prerequisites for corruption, expose criminal schemes and bring corrupt officials to justice.
