At the central entrance of the Elysee Palace, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was met by French President Emmanuel Macron. After a joint photo session, the heads of state headed to the hall for expanded negotiations with the participation of members of official delegations.
The President thanked Emmanuel Macron for the warm welcome of the Kazakh delegation.
" I attach exceptional importance to my visit, which marks a new milestone in the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and France. I am convinced that today's talks, as well as the Joint Statement we are adopting, will help bring the relations between Kazakhstan and France to the level of a strengthened strategic partnership. Taking this opportunity, I would like to sincerely congratulate you on the successful holding of the thirty-third Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. They have become a truly grand event in the world of sports, their organization impressed with its scale and high level of organization. I am confident that your country will also brilliantly host the twenty-sixth Winter Olympic Games in the French Alps in 2030 , " Tokayev said.
He stressed that the agreements and arrangements reached during President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Astana last year contributed to the qualitative deepening of Kazakh-French relations.
" Today, our countries maintain an active and trusting political dialogue. Kazakhstan and France closely interact in the international arena, together promoting the ideas of peace and sustainable development within the framework of multilateral platforms. Your country is one of the largest trading partners and leading investors in the economy of Kazakhstan. Today, over 200 companies and joint ventures with the participation of French capital are successfully operating in our country. We are grateful to the captains of French business for their commitment to doing business in Kazakhstan and fruitful cooperation , " said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President of Kazakhstan emphasized that cultural and humanitarian cooperation is gradually strengthening, especially in the areas of education, science, medicine and history. He also expressed gratitude for the organization of the National Exhibition of Kazakhstan at the legendary Guimet Museum of Asian Arts.
In conclusion, the head of state expressed confidence that the results of the visit would contribute to the well-being and prosperity of the two countries.
In turn, the President of France noted the importance of the negotiations that took place, which will give additional impetus to Kazakh-French cooperation.
“ Thanks to you, the partnership between our countries has strengthened significantly in recent years , ” said Emmanuel Macron, addressing Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
During the talks, the heads of state discussed in detail the current state and prospects of cooperation in the fields of mechanical engineering, transport and logistics, agriculture, energy, industrial cooperation, climate, digital development and healthcare. Particular attention was paid to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
An exchange of views on current issues on the regional and international agenda also took place.
