Head of State held talks with Slovak PM

A solemn welcoming ceremony for the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico, who arrived in Astana on an official visit, was held at the Akorda residence.

During the one-on-one talks, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the Prime Minister’s visit to Kazakhstan will strengthen the Kazakh-Slovak partnership and open up new prospects for bilateral relations.

- Kazakhstan and Slovakia have close relations. We are implementing major projects. I believe that there are opportunities that still need to be properly explored and developed in the future. Therefore, we attach great importance to your visit and believe that it will contribute to the development of cooperation between the two countries. We highly value our relations with your country and consider Slovakia one of Kazakhstan's main partners in the European Union. Therefore, as President, I will do everything possible to expand and deepen our ties in a variety of areas, - said the Head of State.

In turn, the Prime Minister of Slovakia declared his readiness to give new impetus to bilateral relations and to increase trade and economic contacts with Kazakhstan.

- Your Excellency, Mr. President, thank you very much for your hospitality. I would like to confirm that there are no political differences between our countries, so we can fully focus on mutually beneficial economic relations and friendship. Today we will discuss several very important and interesting projects for both sides. I am confident that the results of the visit will be very successful, - Robert Fico noted.
