Head of State held a meeting with the region's farmers in the Zerendinsky district of Akmola region on the harvesting campaign

Farmers from the Kostanay, Pavlodar, and North Kazakhstan regions participated in the event via videoconference. In his address, the President announced that he had traveled to the Akmola region specifically to inspect the progress of the harvesting campaign.

"It's essential to complete fieldwork and harvest the crops on time. Food security in the country and the stability of the domestic market directly depend on this work. A successful harvest will increase our export potential, opening the door to increased exports. Last year was a successful year for Kazakhstan's agricultural sector. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of farmers, a record grain harvest was harvested. This can be attributed to the correct application of agricultural technologies. Overall, this has ensured higher growth in agricultural production than in other sectors. The results for the first eight months of this year are quite good. The measures taken to enhance the technological potential of production are proving their effectiveness," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

On the instructions of the Head of State, a record one trillion tenge has been allocated for preferential lending to agriculture this year. The Head of State expressed gratitude to all farmers in the country for their work.

– Every year, harvesting is a test of your professionalism, determination and, most importantly, patriotism. And our farmers pass this test with honor. You work in difficult conditions, face the vagaries of nature, but always achieve high results. With your hard work, you make a huge contribution to strengthening food security, developing the economy and improving the quality of life in rural areas. The state is taking unprecedented measures to support farmers. In particular, on my instructions, this year a record one trillion tenge was allocated for preferential lending to agriculture. The effect of systemic state support is already visible. The use of agricultural technologies has reached a higher level, crop yields have increased. Earlier, I set the task of doubling the volume of gross agricultural output. Active work is underway in this direction, its pace cannot be reduced, – the President emphasized.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that all measures of state support must be effectively implemented. In particular, he considers it important to launch a program of early preferential financing for the 2026 sowing campaign.

- It is necessary to continue diversifying crop areas with an emphasis on cultivating profitable, high-margin crops. This will increase the volume of crop production in monetary terms. The government and akims must ensure uninterrupted supplies of fuel to farmers during harvesting, timely financing and access to the necessary equipment. Despite the weather conditions, the harvest must be collected as little as possible without losses, - the Head of State said.

The President named preserving the harvest in proper condition as another important task. In his opinion, given the planned production volumes of various crops, the existing storage capacities are insufficient, since separate storage facilities are needed for each type of crop.

- It is obvious that the construction and maintenance of modern elevators requires significant investment. Therefore, a special program of preferential financing should be launched to modernize elevators. Particular attention should be paid to the procurement of high-quality seeds. In addition, effective steps are needed to increase the self-sufficiency of our market in our own seeds. The mechanism for subsidizing mineral fertilizers, which was improved last year, has proven its effectiveness. The Ministry of Agriculture will have to take similar measures of state support in seed production. In general, it is important to note that we have achieved good results in crop production. This has a positive effect on related sectors of agriculture, - said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Head of State instructed to accelerate the implementation of digital technologies in agriculture. Along with this, the Head of State called for the full potential of animal husbandry to be realized.

"A livestock development program will be developed by the end of the year. This document will enable long-term preferential funding. We can only ensure transparency and efficiency in all sectors of the economy through full digitalization. I discussed this issue in detail in my Address. We must accelerate the implementation of digital technologies in agriculture. Digital approaches must be used to fully track processes in crop and livestock production. In this work, it is crucial to establish cooperation with IT businesses," the President noted.

In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recalled that significant funds are allocated from the budget for the development of agriculture.

"Therefore, every task performed, every event must have a clear outcome and have a positive impact on the agricultural sector. The state always provides support to conscientious farmers. I pay special attention to agriculture, and this sector will be under my close supervision. As the saying goes, 'a burden lifted together is light.' Therefore, I am confident that together we will complete this important campaign on time and successfully," the Head of State concluded.

During the meeting, reports were given by the Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, the Akmola region akim Marat Akhmetzhanov, the general director of AF Rodina LLP Ivan Sauer, the Kostanay region akim Kumar Aksakalov, the chairman of the board of directors of Karasu-Astyk LLP Almat Tursunov, the North Kazakhstan region akim Gauez Nurmukhambetov, the head of Zenchenko i K KT Gennady Zenchenko, the Pavlodar region akim Asain Baikhanov, and the director of Galitskoye LLP Alexander Kasitsyn.
