Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Hungarian President Tamás Szujok, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked Tamas Šujok for accepting his invitation and visiting Astana.
"Your first official visit is a very important event in terms of strengthening our cooperation. Hungary was one of the first European states to recognize our sovereignty. And Budapest was the first European city to host our official diplomatic mission. Therefore, we maintain very close contacts with your country in many areas. I am confident that this trend will continue, as it serves the interests of both countries. Therefore, we will do everything possible to further strengthen our cooperation in both the political and economic spheres," said the Head of State.
Tamás Šujok thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his hospitality and noted that the two countries maintain an active dialogue based on trust, mutual respect, and historical ties.
"The friendship between our peoples has deep historical roots. I believe that today our political relations have reached a high level, and we also enjoy very good economic cooperation. And, as noted at this morning's Digital Bridge 2025 conference on artificial intelligence, the future relations between our two countries also offer great prospects. We plan to implement numerous joint projects and initiatives," the Hungarian President emphasized.
During the talks, the parties discussed expanding their trade and economic partnership. The importance of strengthening cultural and educational ties between Kazakhstan and Hungary was emphasized. The parties exchanged views on current international issues and cooperation within multilateral structures.
