Head of State took part in the anniversary event of the Lukoil company

In his speech, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Lukoil on its 30th anniversary of operations in Kazakhstan.

He noted that Lukoil is one of the reputable companies successfully operating in our country.

"There's every reason to believe that the company, which first came to Kazakhstan in 1995, enjoys a high reputation here. This has undoubtedly been made possible by hard work and a high level of responsibility. Furthermore, LUKOIL makes a significant contribution to strengthening the partnership between Kazakhstan and Russia. The company's activities contribute to increasing economic potential and strengthening friendly relations between our countries. Looking back, LUKOIL's activities in Kazakhstan began with the Kumkol project. For more than a quarter of a century, the company has been productively working and achieving tremendous success. Specifically, LUKOIL has invested over $12 billion in Kazakhstan's oil and gas industry, producing 94 million tons of oil and 60 billion cubic meters of gas. Today, I was informed that the company has allocated approximately $300 million to social projects and charity," the Head of State noted.

The President emphasized that these figures represent thousands of jobs created, the transfer of advanced technologies, and a significant contribution to the socioeconomic progress of the regions. He reported that, with the company's participation, the Future Growth Project, one of the largest in the global oil and gas industry, was successfully completed at the Tengiz field.

"On the Caspian shelf, Lukoil, together with KazMunayGas, has begun implementing the promising Kalamkas-Sea and Khazar projects. These are strategic projects. More than six billion dollars in direct investment is planned for the development of these fields, creating over two thousand new jobs. To increase the local content of these projects, shipyards in the Mangistau region will be involved in the production of offshore oil production platforms. The company continues its productive work at the Karachaganak field. Furthermore, Lukoil is currently participating in the development of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which is also of particular importance to our country. This strategically important route supplies Kazakh oil to dozens of countries. Thus, our country's role in the global energy market is strengthening," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The head of state called the launch of a lubricants plant in the Almaty region in 2019 a significant milestone in the history of cooperation. He noted that this is the first enterprise in Kazakhstan to produce oils that meet the highest international standards.

"I'd like to specifically highlight your corporation's high level of social responsibility, as well as its charitable efforts. It's gratifying that the company places increased emphasis on human capital development. Thousands of Kazakhstanis work at major oil and gas facilities, gaining new knowledge and skills and mastering modern technologies. Their professionalism, hard work, and dedication are the pride of Kazakhstan and the key to our future success. In short, over the past thirty years, Kazakhstan and Lukoil have come a long way in constructive cooperation," the President stated.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the oil and gas sector continues to play a major role in Kazakhstan's economy. He believes the industry faces the challenge of further developing existing fields.

"Work on large-scale geological exploration, the launch of projects for deep processing of raw materials, digitalization and the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, and, of course, investments in people and the social sphere have become particularly important. I am confident that Lukoil fully supports these priorities, and in the future, we will achieve new successes in developing our strategic cooperation. I express my deep gratitude to all the company's employees who contribute to the progress of our country," said the Head of State.By the Kazakhstanskaya Pravda
