Presidents of Kazakhstan and Estonia held a one-on-one meeting

Estonian President Alar Karis is on a state visit to Kazakhstan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Estonia is a very important strategic partner, and Kazakhstan has great respect for the history, traditions, and culture of the Estonian people.

"I am very pleased that our relations are steadily developing. We have no major problems or obstacles. At the same time, the potential for our mutual cooperation is enormous, and it must be realized. I am confident that your visit will give a powerful impetus to our further cooperation and friendship. Indeed, there are certain obstacles to mutual trade, but at the same time, some progress has been made in this area. We are very interested in gaining access to your seaports and in trading with your country, as well as in maintaining constructive contacts in international organizations, primarily the United Nations, the UN Security Council, and others. I hope your visit will also give impetus to our cultural ties," the Head of State said.

Estonian President Alar Karis responded that relations between the countries are at a very good level.

"Of course, there are certain obstacles, but they can be overcome. Sometimes we don't even realize it's not that difficult. Our entrepreneurs are already actively discussing joint projects. Several meetings are planned, and we expect to sign a number of memoranda of understanding and implement many initiatives. I am very optimistic about the future and hope that new contacts will contribute to this. Of course, the current geopolitical situation is far from stable, but we must work together to address and overcome emerging challenges. You mentioned the United Nations—it is a truly important organization, which certainly needs certain reforms to reduce conflicts and wars in the world."By the Kazakhstanskaya Pravda
