
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with key indicators of the region's socio-economic development, as well as plans for the development of the Almaty agglomeration.
According to Marat Sultangaziyev, the region's gross regional product has grown 1.8-fold over the past three years, from 3.4 trillion to 6 trillion tenge. The short-term economic indicator for January–October of this year was 109.7%. Thirteen investment projects worth over 470 billion tenge are being implemented in the region, with the participation of international companies in the food industry, logistics, and metallurgy.
The head of state was informed that over the first nine months of this year, exports of manufactured goods increased by 28.5%, reaching $618.5 million. Highly processed products account for 90% of these exports.
As reported to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Almaty region is one of the leaders in the efficient use of state subsidies in agriculture – 1 tenge of subsidies produces up to 17 tenge of agricultural produce. The number of commercial dairy farms has increased to 11.
A separate section presented information on the region's social development. In the first 10 months of 2025, approximately 950,000 square meters of housing were commissioned in the region. The number of schools with three-shift instruction decreased from 52 to 28.
The President was also briefed on the development of the tourism cluster around the Kapchagay Reservoir and national parks. The number of tourists visiting the region reached 2.2 million, a 36% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Following the meeting, the Head of State set a number of tasks for the Akim, related to strengthening the region's industrial and agricultural potential, developing logistics and tourism, and comprehensively addressing pressing issues of concern to the population.
