During his speech, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the decision to establish a special award – the "Meirim" Order, Kazpravda.kz reports.
"Today is a significant day for our country's entire business community. I sincerely congratulate the winners of the Altyn Sapa, Paryz, and Best Product of Kazakhstan competitions, whom we are once again honoring in accordance with established tradition. The success of every entrepreneur present in this hall is a clear testament to our shared achievements. You produce high-quality products, making a significant contribution to the development of the domestic economy and improving the well-being of citizens. You are deeply aware of social responsibility and actively participate in charitable projects. I believe this is a noble quality, inherent in entrepreneurs who are true to their calling and true patriots. The state is always ready to support you," the President said.
He recalled that, starting this year, October 29 has been officially declared a professional holiday – Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs' Day.
"I have established a special award—the Order of Meyirim—to be awarded to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence in philanthropy and social responsibility. I believe that some of the entrepreneurs present here will be awarded this prestigious order as early as next year. This will be a sign of special respect for all business representatives in our country," the Head of State announced.
The Government's task is to ensure economic growth
"In recent years, we have set a course to fully exploit all of our undeniable competitive advantages, create new sources of economic growth, attract investment, and stimulate entrepreneurial initiative. The Government remains faced with the task of ensuring high-quality economic growth. In my Address, I frankly stated that double-digit inflation is unacceptable; it undermines all our decisions and actions aimed at improving the well-being of citizens. Strict, and most likely, strict budget discipline is essential. Funds should be directed only to priority projects and programs that contribute to increasing GDP and Kazakhstan's position on the global stage," the Head of State said.
A completely unresolved problem is self-sufficiency in agricultural products and goods for the practical daily diet of citizens.
According to the President, we import too much, and it's obvious to the naked eye. We rely heavily on imported products for a number of products.
"This is unacceptable for Kazakhstan, especially since a record 1 trillion tenge of state support has been invested in agriculture this year, while its total output is valued at 8.5 trillion tenge (by the end of 2024)," the President emphasized.
