Dear Mr. President, I am glad to see you in Kazakhstan! This is your first official visit to our country. There is a good Kazakh proverb: "When neighbors are friends, it is a blessing." Our countries are connected by the Caspian Sea. For Kazakhstan, Iran is a close neighbor and a reliable partner in the Middle East. We have unwavering respect for the Iranian people. Despite all the difficulties, we continue to develop our ties. The relations between our countries are deeply rooted. We share similar customs, traditions, and culture. We have interacted for centuries. Kazakhstan has always supported Iran; there are no problems or unresolved issues between us. I believe our countries have great potential for cooperation. A constructive political dialogue has been established between Astana and Tehran, including at the governmental level. Bilateral agreements are being implemented, interparliamentary ties are strengthening, and trade and economic cooperation is growing. Over the first 10 months of this year, we've seen a 40% increase compared to 2024, which is undoubtedly a good result. We need to maintain this momentum and increase mutual trade volumes, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took the opportunity to convey his best wishes to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm welcome and expressed confidence that his current visit will give new impetus to the further development of bilateral ties.
"I am pleased to visit brotherly and friendly Kazakhstan, with its rich history and culture. Our relations are steadily developing across a wide range of areas. Effective cooperation has been established between our governments. I am confident that we have enormous potential for strengthening cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and security spheres," the Iranian leader said.
