The President emphasized that Vietnam is one of Kazakhstan's important partners in Asia.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam on his election as President of the country.
"Your election victory confirms the high level of public support for your strategic initiatives aimed at Vietnam's political and economic development and the protection of its national interests on the international stage. I am confident that under your wise leadership, the country will achieve further impressive successes," the telegram reads.
The President emphasized that Vietnam is one of Kazakhstan's important partners in Asia and expressed confidence in the further expansion of the strategic partnership for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
It was previously reported that the National Assembly of Vietnam elected General Secretary of the Communist Party To Lam as president of the country for a five-year term.
