Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš held an expanded meeting. During the talks, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the significant potential for further strengthening relations between the two countries.
"I believe the future of our political and economic cooperation is very promising. It's gratifying that our missions to the UN, OSCE, and other international organizations closely cooperate and maintain ongoing dialogue. There's good groundwork for developing ties in many areas," noted Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President praised the Czech Republic's balanced and pragmatic foreign policy. He stated that political dialogue between our countries creates a favorable atmosphere for strengthening multifaceted cooperation. Interparliamentary cooperation is developing dynamically.
The head of state also emphasized that the Czech Republic is one of Kazakhstan's key trading partners in the European Union.
"Trade dynamics are positive. Of course, we will continue to promote the expansion of trade and economic ties. Today, more than 190 Czech companies are actively operating in Kazakhstan, including such flagship investors as Škoda, Omnipol, Tatra, and ZVVZ. I assure you that Kazakhstan offers broad opportunities for implementing joint projects," the President stated.
In turn, the Czech Prime Minister noted that he views his visit as a starting point for taking bilateral relations to a new level.
"We consider Kazakhstan a strategic partner. I am confident that through joint efforts we can increase trade between our countries. Above all, we would like to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector. We are extremely interested in long-term oil supplies. Of course, Kazakhstan is also of interest to us as the world's largest uranium producer, as our energy development strategy is based on nuclear energy," said Andrej Babiš.
The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic noted that Kazakhstan has developed a robust energy security structure with a diversified approach to energy production. He confirmed the willingness of Czech companies to participate in joint projects in this area.
Andrej Babiš also congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the successful conduct of the referendum to adopt a new Constitution, which marked an important milestone in strengthening statehood and determining the country's future.
The parties discussed prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in industry, oil and gas, nuclear energy, transport and logistics, defense, digitalization, agriculture, and healthcare.
As was emphasized during the conversation, the relations between the two countries extend far beyond the economy, relying on shared historical memory and cultural and humanitarian ties.
The head of state expressed special gratitude to the Czech Republic for its assistance in implementing the unique project to reintroduce the Przewalski's horse to the Kazakh steppes. This initiative was presented by the President at the Regional Environmental Summit as one of our country's achievements in biodiversity conservation.
The Prime Minister announced the Czech Republic's intention to assist in facilitating visa requirements for Kazakh citizens both bilaterally and within the EU.
Following the negotiations, the parties will prepare a list of projects for the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level.
