Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked Chairman Xi Jinping for the invitation to participate in the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence, noting the symbolism of holding this event in Shanghai, the "Pearl of the East".
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the Chairman of the People's Republic of China on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
"China enjoys enormous prestige in the international community, and its achievements have been recognized worldwide. Today, we are all watching with great interest the impressive changes taking place in your country. I believe that this is, above all, the result of your visionary leadership and tireless work. I deeply respect you as a strong leader leading your people forward, and as a wise politician of global significance. We are always ready to support your noble initiatives. Kazakhstan is always interested in the comprehensive strengthening of its enduring and strategic partnership with China. In recent years, the political dialogue between our countries has significantly intensified," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
According to the President, significant progress has been made in trade and economic cooperation. China is Kazakhstan's largest trading partner. To date, China has invested $30 billion in our country's economy. Last year, bilateral trade reached $49 billion. More than 8,500 Chinese companies are currently successfully operating in Kazakhstan. Major joint projects are being implemented in various sectors of the economy, including industry, energy, gas chemicals, mechanical engineering, and agriculture.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that cultural and humanitarian ties are strengthening every year.
"Last year, more than 1 million Chinese citizens visited Kazakhstan. Cultural centers opened in the capitals of both countries. Lu Ban's workshops are successfully operating in our country. This is further evidence of the friendship and mutual trust that has developed between the two peoples," the President emphasized.
The head of state noted the high level of cooperation on the international stage. The two countries share similar positions on global sustainable development and security.
In particular, effective contacts have been established within the framework of the UN, SCO, CICA, and the Central Asia-China format.
In turn, the Chairman of the People's Republic of China, welcoming the President of Kazakhstan, noted that today was a favorable opportunity to discuss current issues on the bilateral agenda.
"Through joint efforts, the eternal comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan has reached a high level. At the same time, there is significant potential for its development. The President of Kazakhstan is pursuing a friendly policy toward China, which is in the interests of the peoples of both countries," Xi Jinping said.
Furthermore, the PRC Chairman praised the large-scale reforms being implemented at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, congratulated him on the adoption of the new Constitution, and wished him success in the upcoming Kurultai elections.
Following the meeting, the leaders of Kazakhstan and China signed a Program and Roadmap for Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People's Republic of China for the period 2027–2030.
