Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the III International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence, taking place in Astana.

In his speech, the Head of State emphasized that Kazakhstan has made a strategic choice in favor of digital development.

"In the UN E-Government Development Index, Kazakhstan ranks 24th out of 193 countries. Our country is a leader in Central Asia in terms of its readiness to implement new technologies. We are creating a unified innovation ecosystem in which artificial intelligence serves as an important tool for managing the state, the economy, and business, permeating all spheres of public life. In last year's Address, I set the goal of transforming Kazakhstan into a fully-fledged digital state within three years. Declaring 2026 the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence is entirely aimed at achieving this strategic objective. Moreover, the country's main development course, based on innovation, is clearly outlined in the new Constitution of Kazakhstan, which came into force on July 1. But this is only the beginning of all processes," the President stated.

According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, our country places special emphasis on quality education and comprehensive support for gifted children.

"Last year, at the Artificial Intelligence Olympiad in Beijing, Kazakhstani schoolchildren won three gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. This is an achievement of which our country is rightfully proud, and it once again confirms the enormous intellectual and creative potential of our youth. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all the teachers and mentors who train our talented youth," the Head of State noted.

The President expressed confidence that the Olympiad will provide a powerful impetus to the development of the international community of young artificial intelligence researchers.

"Knowledge has always united people and propelled humanity to the heights of progress. Your knowledge can form the basis for new solutions in medicine, education, ecology, and other vital areas. Perhaps it is here, at this Olympiad, that new ideas and projects will be born that will change the world for the better," the Head of State emphasized.

In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished the Olympiad participants good luck and expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the preparation of this important event.
