Farmers across several Kazakh regions initiated the harvesting campaign, threshing 1.6 million tonnes of grain crops by 4 August with an average yield of 19.1 centners per hectare, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Regional municipality data indicates wheat accounts for 1,067,000 tonnes and barley 456,000 tonnes of total harvested grain.
