In Akorda, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presented the outstanding artist Batima Zaurbekova with the Order of “Otan”, and the famous literary critic Tursyn Zhurtbay with the Order of “Barys”, 1st degree. In addition, the prominent statesman Alexander Sudin was awarded the Order of Barys, II degree. Recognized actor and theater director Nurkanat Zhakypbay was awarded the title “Kazakhstannyn halyk artisi” (“People’s Artist of Kazakhstan”), and veteran of the agricultural industry Viktor Khilnichenko was awarded the title “Kazakhstannyn enbek sinirgen kairatkeri” (“Honored figure of Kazakhstan").
As the Head of State stated, Batima Zaurbekova is distinguished by her vibrant, recognizable style in the visual arts. She was one of the founders of the national school of tapestry and became the first professional female master in this field in Kazakhstan.
"Your work has received recognition; you have been awarded the State Prize. You have paid special attention to promoting the history, identity, ornamental art, and traditions of our people. Your works adorn iconic buildings in Almaty and other cities, are held in collections both in Kazakhstan and abroad, and have received the highest praise from respected international experts. I believe your illustrious creative career serves as an excellent example for the younger generation," the President noted.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called Tursyn Zhurtbay a prominent scholar and brilliant writer who dedicated his entire adult life to the development of national spirituality.
"You have invested considerable effort in the in-depth study and comprehensive popularization of the life and work of Abai Kunanbayev. Abai is a spiritual beacon for the entire nation, and, above all, for the younger generation. In essence, understanding the great thinker is understanding the Kazakh people themselves. You have authored valuable scholarly works dedicated to the rich legacy and biographies of Mukhtar Auezov and other prominent figures of national culture. With your outstanding works, you have significantly enriched our national literature," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The head of state also thanked Alexander Sudyin, who has been actively involved in the development of our country since the first years of independence.
"During your time in public service, you have earned well-deserved honor and respect. You represented the interests of the people with dignity as a member of the Senate. I would like to recognize your contributions to the development of Kazakhstan's parliamentary system as Deputy Speaker and Chief of Staff of the Senate. Your professional work has been highly praised and rightfully serves as an example of selfless service to the Fatherland," the President emphasized.
The speech further noted that the renowned director Nurkanat Zhakypbay, who has dedicated more than half a century to theater and cinema, makes a significant contribution to the development of national culture.
"You are a living legend of the stage, and your large-scale productions have received national acclaim. Your brilliant performances in dozens of plays and films have earned the deep respect of audiences. Today, you share your invaluable experience with aspiring artists, opening their path to the world of art," the President continued.
The head of state highlighted the fruitful professional and public career of Viktor Khilnichenko, who rose from an agronomist to the head of the agricultural enterprise "Khilnichenko and Co." He also distinguished himself as a deputy of the Almaty regional maslikhat.
"Most importantly, you never rested on your laurels, setting new and increasingly challenging goals. Your contribution to the development of the region's agricultural potential cannot be overstated," the President noted.
In conclusion, the President emphasized that Kazakhstan has embarked on a path of comprehensive modernization, which is reflected in fundamental changes in all areas of public life.
"Truly historic decisions were made that will determine the fate of the nation. We held a national referendum and adopted a new Constitution. Our citizens voted for the new Basic Law. Kazakh wisdom says, 'Unity is the source of prosperity.' National unity is the unshakable foundation for the growth and prosperity of our state. Soon, for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan, elections to the Kurultai will be held, which will undoubtedly be a most important event in the life of the country. The electoral campaign is currently in full swing. The parties are demonstrating high standards of political culture. We stand on the threshold of momentous events. A very important period lies ahead. I am confident that by uniting, we will be able to direct all our experience and energy for the benefit of our homeland," the Head of State stated.
