Masimov, Jibao meet in Beijing

    On October 14, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Masimov met with Prime Minister of the State Council of China, Wen Jiabao in Beijing; a press release from Premier Masimov stated, according to Kazinform.
    The two parties exchanged opinions on bilateral relations, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
    Discussing the decisions and agreements signed in Beijing to increase the capacity of the Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline from 10 to 20 million tons a year, as well as the construction of the 2nd stage of the Beineu-Bozoi gas pipeline, Mr. Wen Jiabao noted Kazakhstan and China made great steps in their cooperation.
    "The establishment of long-term bilateral relations in the oil and gas sector is evidence of an absolute political mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and China," he stressed.
    The prospects for the implementation of projects in the non-primary sector, the financial sector and the rational use of Transborder Rivers were considered as well, according Kazinform.
