Astana opens Neurosurgical Conference

    The world’s most prominent neurosurgeons have assembled in Astana. An international conference of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies is being held for the first time in Central Asia.
    The forum brought together neurosurgeons from Russia, the United States, Japan, Argentina, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Sweden, and Switzerland, as well as more than 200 attendees. Those present will learn about the most advanced methods of treatment for brain and spinal cord diseases.
    Japanese professor Kazuhiro Hongo said it was his first visit to Astana, and he would like to get to know more about neurosurgery in Kazakhstan and share his experience. He noted that he applied the microscopic method widely in his practice, and would give two lectures about his methods at the conference.
    The World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies has been training specialists around the world for more than 50 years. Its education and training committee features about 50 top-ranked medical doctors. The best of them gather once a year to share the newest methods.
