Fuel prices go up in Kazakhstan

28.07.2011
Kazakhstan has raised the level of maximum retail prices for fuel, the Ministry of Oil and Gas has reported.
The marginal cost of AI-92 gasoline and AI-93 increased by 4 tenge and reached 106 Tenge per one liter, while one liter of AI 80 petrol grew to 86 Tenge from 84 Tenge. The maximum price for diesel fuel increased by 3 Tenge to 90 Tenge per liter.
The Minister of Oil and Gas, Sauat Mynbayev, noted that prices had risen due to the rising cost of oil and the increase in the price of Brent crude oil in Russia. He also added that those owners of gas-filling stations that put the retail price of fuel above the maximum allowable by the existing law would be sanctioned. Moreover, he promised that there would be no fuel deficit in Kazakhstan, according to Kazinform.
