Senate Chairman meets Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Zhou Li

    Kazakhstan’s Senate Chairman Kairat Mami received Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhou Li on September 13, a press statement from the Senate reports.
    The further strengthening the Kazakh-Chinese bilateral relations, including at the level of inter-parliamentary interaction, were discussed at the meeting.
    Mami outlined the dynamics of the development of relations between Kazakhstan and China and stressed that their strategic partnership is characterized by the high level of confidence.
    "The key role in the development and strengthening cooperation between our countries belongs to the leaders of the two nations, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Hu Jintao," the Senate Chairman said.
    "We are paying great significance to the upcoming visit on part of Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. His visit will not only promote the activation of inter-parliamentary dialogue, but also a strengthening of ties in all directions of interstate relations," Mami noted.
    Conveying greetings from Wu Bangguo, Zhou Li spoke of a further strengthening strategic partnership between the two states, according to Gazeta.kz.
