London High Court dismisses Ablyazov Appeal

    The London High Court has dismissed an appeal filed by former head of Kazakhstan's BTA Bank Mukhtar Ablyazov to reconsider a scheduled detention hearing for repeated violation of judicial restraints, a Tuesday press release from BTA Bank said.
    BTA Bank had earlier filed a petition to place Ablyazov in custody, according to the bank, for repeated violations of the various judicial mandates.
    A hearing on his arrest has been scheduled for November 28. In addition, the court ordered Ablyazov to personally reimburse all costs for the complaint filed by BTA.
    This decision was made as per the current legal proceedings initiated by BTA to regain assets and compensation for damages caused by its former management.
    The main hearings on the case filed by BTA are scheduled to take place in 2012, states a press release from BTA, according to Ria Novosti.
