16.08.2013
Kazakh President is attending III Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) in Gabala city of Azerbaijan.
In his speech Nursultan Nazarbayev has announced a number of initiatives for further integration of Turkic-speaking states.
"I would like to share with you some thoughts regarding the present and future activities of the council", said the Kazakh President.
''In order to enhance the credibility of the Turkic Council we should make all efforts to form its institutional foundation as an organization. One should speed up the completion of the ratification of some key documents.
It is necessary to strengthen mutual beneficial economic cooperation between the two brotherly nations and neighboring countries. At present, the total gross domestic product of the six independent Turkic states is reaching USD 1 trillion 150 billion. Despite this, the trade turnover between the our countries does not correspond to our potential'', said the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"We attach significance towards importing capacities and sharing of new technologies. However, we are interested in the use of new energy sources and the development of "green economy." In this regard, "Expo-2017", Astana International Exhibition, has a special meaning.
I am sure that all the Turkic-speaking states will take an active part in this large-scale event.
There are opportunities for enhancement of tourism which is an important direction for all of us. We should share experience in training professionals to determine the general direction of the route. For this purpose, I propose to establish a working group for tourism development within the Secretariat
It is necessary to further develop cooperation between the brotherly countries in the fields of education, science and culture. We should actively participate in the work of TURKSOY Turkic Academy, the Foundation of Turkish culture and heritage", concluded the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazInform reports.
