Kazakhstan to outlaw human cloning

    Chief of the First Directorate of the Prosecutor General Office of Kazakhstan, Almas Mukhamedjanov, has said the country would introduce a new article in the criminal code banning human cloning.
    It is expected that criminal punishment for human cloning will be five years in prison.
    If an act of cloning is conducted by a group of individuals, the maximum term will increase to 12 years. At the moment, the proposal is being considered by experts involved in the development of the new penal code.
    The new penal code will come into effect in the second half of 2014, according to Pravda.Ru.
