Repatriates to have shorted time to obtain citizenship

The amount of time needed to obtain Kazakhstani citizenship for repatriates will be reduced to one year, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Tamara Duissenova said during a media briefing at the Central Communications Office.
"First, the choice of the region is up to ethnic Kazakhs. Regardless of the region where some originates, ‘oralman’ status will be granted to all. Second, we have removed the condition of "proof of solvency". Third, the timeline for obtaining citizenship is being reduced to 1 year," Duissenova said.
In addition, it is planned to provide social packages to repatriates arriving in those regions facing a labor shortage.
"These packages will include allowances for travel, luggage transportation, and rental accommodation provided by an employer for a period of 5 years. After 5 years, it can be privatized at residual value," she added, according to CA-News.
