Talks on new agreement between Kazakhstan and EU sped up

Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov has met with the Head of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan, Aurelia Bouchez, German Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Guido Hertz, Deputy Ambassador of The Netherlands to Kazakhstan, Harry Putker, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.
The results of the seventh round of negotiations on the new agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union held on June 30 - July 1 in Brussels, were discussed during the meeting.
"The minister noted with satisfaction that thanks to the high level of understanding of the negotiating teams, the last round was the most successful - nearly all the provisions of the document were agreed upon. This will make it possible complete the talks by autumn of this year," the report said.
Idrisov stressed the importance of facilitating the visa regime with the EU for Kazakhstan. Starting from July 15, 2014, Kazakhstan is unilaterally applying a visa-free regime for one year for citizens of the ten countries that are major investors into the country's economy.
It was also noted at the meeting it is planned to ratify the agreement on readmission with Germany, as well as preparae for the signing of readmission agreements and agreements on exemption of visa requirements for the holders of diplomatic passports from the Benelux countries, Trend reports.
