Eight priority goals for international cooperation are now being developed within the EEU, Kazakhstan's First Deputy Prime Minister, Bakytzhan Sagintayev said in an interview with TASS yesterday.
"Taking into consideration the complicated situation with the world economy and the slowdown in economic growth, we are interested in new markets. This includes the EU, CIS, the Asian and Pacific region, the Middle East, the Caspian region, North and Latin America and Africa," he said.
"As per the instruction of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, we are working on the Eurasian integration process and the Chinese initiative called the new Economic belt of the Silk Road. As of today, joint groups have been formed to study the feasibility of setting up a free trade zone with Iran, Israel, India and Egypt," Sagintayev told.
In total, more than 30 countries have expressed interest in cooperating with the EEU. This demonstrates the positive image of the union on the international stage, Sagintayev stressed, according to Kazinform.
