Kazakhstan ready for talks with EU to ease visa regime – E.Idrissov

    Kazakhstan is ready to start talks to ease its visa regime for its nationals with the European Union, Kazinform reports, citing Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerlan Idrissov as saying at a public session in Astana yesterday.
    “We are not targeting the introduction of a non-visa regime … Presently, we are negotiating on the simplification of a visa issuance procedure for our citizens,” he said.
    "We have a government plan, and an interdepartmental group is operating now. We are ready to start the talks with the EU,” In addition the Minister stressed, Kazakhstan must carry out huge effort in several areas: the issuance of modern passports, the adoption of an appropriate law, border-control issue as well as the fight with trans-border crimes.he added, according to Kazinform.
