22.06.2016
Minister for Investment and Development Asset Issekeshev has been appointed akim of Astana, as per a presidential decree signed on June 21.
Issekeshev replaces Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, who was appointed chief of the Presidential Administration.
Issekeshev became minister for investment and development on August 6, 2014.
In late April, Nursultan Nazarbayev criticized the Astana Akim's Office for the bad odor coming from the Taldykol water reservoir.
He then threatened to sack Dzhaksybekov if his office failed to fulfill the president's order, Kazinform reports.
