Armenian and Kazakh FMs discuss preparations for Nazarbayev’s Armenia trip

    Edward Nalbandian, foreign minister of Armenia, has met with Yerlan Idrissov, foreign minister of Kazakhstan on July 4. Idrissov is now in Yerevan to participate in the session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
    While welcoming his Kazakh counterpart, Minister Nalbandian congratulated Idrissov on Kazakhstan's success in becoming a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
    In turn, Idrissov thanked Nalbandian for the reception. He mentioned that Kazakhstan is interested in developing ties with Armenia in various areas. Idrissov expressed gratitude for Armenia’s support for his country’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
    The two sides discussed preparations for the upcoming official visit on part of the Kazakh president to Armenia.
    Nalbandian and Idrissov also discussed the issues to be covered during the session of the Armenia-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Committee, scheduled for 2016.
    The two foreign ministers also talked about fostering cooperation within international organizations, according to Armenpress.
