Nazarbayev instructed to work out technological upgrade measures for base industries

    A meeting chaired by the President on the accelerated technological upgrade of the economy was held today in Akorda, Kazpravda.kz reports.
    The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister, National Bank governor, Government members, the mayor of Astana, heads of national holdings and companies.
    Modernisation of the economy tops the priorities of the President's state-of-the-nation Address "Third Modernisation: global competitiveness."
    Development of new industry with the use of digital technologies and working out of a set of measures for technological revamp of base industries were also mooted.
    Ending the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev gave a number of specific instructions.
