President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard information from Prime Minister Askar Mamin, head of the State Commission for ensuring the state of emergency, on the commission’s work and decisions taken to counter the spread of coronavirus infection in the country.
Askar Mamin reported on the introduction of quarantine in Nur-Sultan and Almaty, measures to support economic entities, and the preparedness of the regions for the possible emergence of carriers of coronavirus.
The Head of State noted the importance of the coordinated work of members of the commission, their interaction with the heads of regions. According to the Head of State, special attention should be paid to the issues of effective implementation of fiscal policy, within the framework of which the coordinated actions of the Government and the National Bank are important.
Recall, the Health Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that the number of Kazakhstanis infected with coronavirus infection increased to 35 people.
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on the introduction of a state of emergency in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which implies certain restrictions for citizens.
Before that, Kazakhstan announced early vacations for schoolchildren, transferred students to distance learning from March 16 in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
In addition, Kazakhstan banned sports and cultural events, suspended the work of cinemas and decided not to hold public events on Nauryz holidays.
