Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the online ceremony of unveiling the monument to the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, at the National Defense University.

In his speech, the President noted that Nursultan Nazarbayev is the founder of modern Kazakhstan, which determined the strategic path of development of our independent state and rallied the people in the name of achieving a common goal.

Peace and stability, prosperity and unity, he said, are the result of a balanced policy of the First President. In the history of each state there are unique personalities that left an indelible mark. It is the duty of the younger generation to value and respect their merits, he added.

According to the President, installing the monument at the National University of Defense is a deeply symbolic act, since the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan were created by Decree of the First President.

Kazakhstan has created a multi-stage military training system from secondary military educational institutions to an international university, Tokayev emphasized.
