President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his sincere condolences to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in connection with the tragic death of Russian schoolchildren in a gymnasium in Kazan.
"I share the grievous loss with the families of the dead children and express my sympathy to them," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's telegram says.
Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev also expressed his condolences to Vladimir Putin.
Recall that this morning in Kazan, a 19-year-old attacker opened fire in the gymnasium No. 175 on Faizi street. As a result of the shooting in the school, 7 children were killed: 4 boys and 3 girls. One teacher was also killed. Another 20 people are in the hospital. The attacker was arrested.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a counter-terrorist operation regime has been introduced in Kazan. After the arrest of the shooter, operational actions continue in the building. Security measures have been strengthened in all educational institutions of the city - the entrances to schools are closed, classes of the second shift were canceled.
After the shooting at a school in Tatarstan, May 12 was declared a day of mourning.
