Kazakh President confers with Russian PM

Kassym-Jomart held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin. The President highly appreciated results of the talks between the leaders of the governments of Kazakhstan and Russia.

He underscored the existing potential for economic ties enhancement, building up cooperation through specific projects. To date, thanks to the efforts of the governments of our countries, he added, in various fields, be it mechanical engineering, agriculture and other important industries, important projects have been created.

The Prime Minister of Russia thanked Tokayev for the warm welcome and conveyed warm wishes from President Vladimir Putin.

"We value friendship, partnership and alliance with brotherly Kazakhstan. And we have a very meaningful agenda on the government line. There are great opportunities for joint work, trade and economic cooperation is developing at a good pace. In the first half of the year, mutual trade has grown by more than a third. We expect record figures by the end of the year and are successfully cooperating in the investment area. Russian business shares in 32 large projects in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan colleagues are also actively involved in projects in the Russian Federation," Mikhail Mishustin said.

During the talk, the priority areas of Kazakh-Russian interaction were touched upon, including countering the pandemic and the joint production of vaccines.

The parties noted positive dynamics of the dialogue between the regions, which is intended to give a new impetus to the next Forum of Interregional Cooperation with participation of the heads of state, scheduled this fall in Kokshetau.
