
While addressing the solemn event dated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence, the Head of State extended his heartfelt congratulations on that historic occasion.
According to President Tokayev, by proclaiming its independence Kazakhstan turned the dream of the ancestors into reality. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also emphasized that the independence is the most sacred, valuable and treasured thing for Kazakhstanis.
The Independence Day is a great holiday, it is the pinnacle of our centuries-long fight for our statehood and the symbol of the Kazakh people’s perseverance, President Tokayev added. Earlier it was reported that the solemn event with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence had started in the Kazakh capital. The country opened a new page in its history on 16 December 1991 by attaining the status of an independent state. The same day First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the constitutional law «On state independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan».
The Independence Day is celebrated in line with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the achievements of Kazakhstan over the years of independence.
«Our country has reached serious achievements in the development of regions, transport infrastructure, and social sphere. 13 thousand km. of roads and 2,700km of railroads have been built,» said Tokayev at a solemn event dedicated to mark the 30th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan. He added that Kazakhstan has attracted over $370bn of foreign direct investment.
«Kazakhstan is ahead of all post-Soviet countries and some East European countries in terms of DFI per capita. Kazakhstan’s international reserves hit over $90bn,» said Tokayev. Earlier it was reported that a solemn event celebrating the 30th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev kicked off in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan. Notably, this year marks the 30th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan.
The country opened a new page in its history on 16 December 1991 by attaining the status of an independent state. The same day First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the constitutional law «On state independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan».

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke of a number of difficulties the Kazakhstani people have faced since gaining independence.
«The conference on interaction and confidence-building measures in Asia has become a kind of a visiting card of Kazakh diplomacy. The indicator of effectiveness of foreign policy of Kazakhstan was the 2010 OSCE Presidency and non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council in 2017 and 2018. It is safe to say that a solid foundation of social and economic development in the new historic and geopolitical conditions has been built in Kazakhstan over the years of independence,» said Tokayev at the solemn event dated to the 30th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh President went on to note that by overcoming the global financial economic shocks of the past decade, successfully the pandemic unlike any seen before, we – the citizens of Kazakhstan – keep on moving forward, look to the future with confidence.
«30 years of independence is an entire era. It is an era of persistent counter against the hard difficulties and challenges. The era comparable to a long and thorny road toward unknown,» said the Head of State.
According to him, this era was a turning point in the history of the Kazakhstani people. The Kazakh President on behalf of the Kazakhstani people expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nursultan Nazarbayev for his titanic work in the construction of independent Kazakhstan.
