"As you know, on January 11, at the plenary meeting of Parliament, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the need for a deep transformation of the activities of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund.
The fund's portfolio companies are backbone for the national economy. Therefore, the solution of tasks for restructuring of the economy and the direction of resources for the benefit of the people depend on the fund.
The President believes that the Government should first of all reduce the administrative superstructure. It is also required to change the nature of the relationship between Samruk-Kazyna and the Government in order to increase the direction of income in favor of the interests of the state and people.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev demanded from the Government to ensure the formation of a real competitive environment in key sectors of the economy and transparency in the procurement of the fund and national companies.
According to the Head of State, it is necessary to reduce the excessive presence of the state in the economy, to intensify the privatization of the assets of the Samruk-Kazyna fund for this purpose.
At the same time, it is important to achieve transparency in privatization, without which the structural transformation of the economy is impossible.
The President expects specific proposals and actions from the Government and the State Commission on Privatisation," Berik Uali wrote.
