Mortality rate in Kazakhstan reaches its highest value since 2009


The crude death rate, after many years of decline, resumed growth in 2019, reaching 9.61 per 1,000 people in 2021, the highest since 2009.

In urban areas, the overall mortality rate is much higher than in rural areas. It amounted to 10.33 per 1,000 people, against 8.57 in the countryside.
