Heads of government of EAEU countries arrive in Almaty

On February 2-3, Almaty will host a regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the annual digital forum Digital Almaty 2023.

“The heads of governments of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and the chairman of the collegium of the Eurasian Economic Commission will take part in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Representatives of the observer states to the EAEU, the CIS Secretary General and the heads of the Eurasian Development Bank and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilisation and Development are also invited to the event,” Aibek Smadiyarov, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, said at a press conference.

According to him, the agenda includes issues of trade and economic cooperation, technical regulation, the EAEU integrated information system and other topical issues.

It is expected that during the event, the heads of government will sign an agreement on coordinated approaches to the regulation of foreign exchange relations and the adoption of liberalisation measures.

On the second day, the prime ministers of the EAEU countries will take part in the plenary session of the annual Digital Almaty forum. Traditionally, the forum is expected to be attended by prominent political and public figures, heads of large digital companies, IT business leaders and digital industry experts. This year, as part of this event, an international exhibition of thematic projects will also be held with the Digital Almaty Awards ceremony.
