"This year, international financial institutions on average almost halved their forecasts for the development of the world economy. However, despite the pressure of external factors, our cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union shows a positive trend. The participating countries maintain macroeconomic stability, increase economic growth and volumes of mutual trade. For my part, I would like to note that over the years of the EAEU’s activity, Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with other member countries of the Union has grown by 74%, while exports have grown by 98%. We consider this to be a good indicator,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
According to him, in the current geo-economic conditions, the overall priority is a more complete and effective disclosure of the potential of the Union.
"First of all, we are talking about the full implementation of the first of the four freedoms - the freedom of movement of goods. This is the formation of a single, truly barrier-free market and the provision of unhindered transit of goods to third countries. "It is important to continue a systematic dialogue with integration associations and countries with which cooperation is of economic interest to us. The Commission will promptly complete work on concluding agreements on a free trade zone with the United Arab Emirates, India, Egypt, Indonesia, and Israel. We should qualitatively strengthen interaction with the SCO, ASEAN, MERCOSUR and other international organizations," the President of Kazakhstan stressed.
In his opinion, it seems important to develop and formalize the institution of an observer under the Union. He believes that this institution should become a mechanism for effective and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Along with the development of physical infrastructure, the leader of Kazakhstan pointed out the extreme importance of developing substantive solutions to create a common digital system for the transit of goods. According to him, it is important to consistently and systematically realize the huge potential of the EAEU for the benefit of our countries.
"This is fundamentally important. After all, economic integration is, first of all, a key tool for achieving economic growth and the well-being of our citizens. Accordingly, the success or failure of integration efforts will be measured very simply - business and citizens should feel that they work and live better as a result of the work of the union. Only in this case, they will give the authorities a mandate of trust for further integration steps. Therefore, the Kazakhstani vision of the development of the Union is a consistent increase in the economic potential of our countries. That is, projects, technologies, jobs, taxes. At the end of his speech, the leader of Kazakhstan noted that next year the EAEU turns 10 years old, and a jubilee summit is planned.
