
Head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a regular meeting of the Supreme Council for Reforms, which was attended by members of the Government and heads of state bodies.
The event began with a discussion of the key challenges of the country's socio-economic development. Asset Irgaliyev, Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms, reported on the results of the analysis.
After listening to the report, the President emphasized the need to implement economic and legal reforms along with political reforms. The government and the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms were instructed to take into account the results of today's discussion when developing the National Development Plan of Kazakhstan until 2029.
Much attention during the meeting was paid to measures to develop the energy industry and an effective tariff policy. Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev and Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantirov reported on the work in this direction.
The head of state noted that the effective and timely implementation of the "Tariff in exchange for investment" program is a key task for the entire Government.
Another important problem requiring attention, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called the shortage of qualified personnel in thermal power facilities and the energy system. It was instructed to solve the problem of staff turnover without delay.
The meeting also considered the issue of developing national projects. The head of state pointed out the need for timely and high-quality implementation of two national projects: “Comfortable School” and “Modernization of Rural Healthcare”.
The Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Musin reported on the new national project "Accessible Internet".
Commenting on the speeches of the Minister, the President stressed that the result of this national project should be affordable and high-quality Internet for everyone.
The meeting also considered the issue of integrated development of healthcare infrastructure. Minister of Health Azhar Giniyat acted as a speaker on this topic.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev noted the exceptional importance of the effective implementation of the program and the maximum use of the local content.
