Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Tumysh presented credentials to the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV) Vo Van Thuong.
During the conversation, the Ambassador, thanking for the warm hospitality and excellent organization of the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Vietnam on August 20-22 this year, informed the Head of the SRV about the main tasks outlined by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev`s State of the Nation Address «Economic Course of Just Kazakhstan» dated September 1, 2023. The large-scale reforms of the Head of State aimed at the comprehensive development and modernization of our country were highly appreciated by the Vietnamese leadership.
The Kazakh diplomat also reported on the ongoing work on the upcoming chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Organization of Turkic States, making a proposal to intensify cooperation between the countries of this association with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The parties agreed that for these purposes it is critically important to use and increase the transit-transport and multimodal-logistics potential of the Middle Corridor.
In addition, K. Tumysh conveyed the invitation to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev regarding the state visit of the President of Vietnam to Kazakhstan in June 2024, combined with participation in the Astana International Forum, which was gratefully accepted.
In turn, President Vo Van Thuong thanked the Kazakh leadership for the invitation, describing the decision of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the appointment of an experienced diplomat, who previously held the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, as the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Vietnam as an important signal. Noting the importance of speeding up the work of the Kazakh-Vietnamese Intergovernmental Commission, the Head of the SRV, taking into account the recent castling in the Kazakh government, proposed to raise the level of its co-chairs to ministers of relevant ministries in charge of trade as soon as possible.
The meeting was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere aimed at raising bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level in the coming years.
