The head of state received Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
During the conversation, the state and prospects for the development of the Kazakh-Chinese strategic partnership, the progress of implementation by the governments of the two countries of the agreements previously reached by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Chinese President Xi Jinping were discussed.
“Bringing bilateral relations with China to a new qualitative level is the most important priority for Kazakhstan. I believe that Kazakh-Chinese relations are, in fact, a model of mutually beneficial, effective interstate interaction. We consider China as a very important strategic partner and have high hopes for achieving concrete results of our cooperation in all areas,” the head of state noted.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recalled that the recent Third High-Level Forum “One Belt, One Road” was a great success and determined the further development path of the large-scale initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping. According to the president, Kazakhstan will continue to fully contribute to the implementation of this project.
“As you know, I recently visited Beijing on an official visit and held detailed negotiations with President Xi Jinping. The negotiations were highly substantive and became an important step towards deepening cooperation. A reciprocal visa-free regime has come into force. Next year has been declared the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China. I believe that for mutual exchange, especially on the part of young people, this is also a very important decision. Once again I would like to emphasize that the development of cooperation with China is a priority for each country. We are paying increased attention to this issue at the highest level,” the head of state said.
He also noted that the 11th meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee, which took place today in Astana, plays an important role in developing joint actions in the trade and economic sphere.
In turn, Ding Xuexiang conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and expressed satisfaction with the pace of development of bilateral cooperation.
“The purpose of my visit is to implement the agreements of the heads of state in the name of constantly achieving new results of our cooperation. The Chinese side sincerely rejoices at the enormous successes of Kazakhstan in the field of state building. The successful development of Chinese-Kazakh relations fully meets our common interests and also contributes to peace and stability in the region. The Chinese side is ready to participate in the implementation of the agreements of the heads of state, as well as in the joint high-quality implementation of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed issues of strengthening interaction in the areas of trade, agriculture, investment, transport and logistics, energy, etc. At the same time, the relevance of developing cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the countries was noted.
