During the meeting, the President - Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan heard a report from the Minister on the results of the activities of the defense department for 2023, new approaches to combat training of troops, and the state of the training and training ground.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the state defense order, the arrival of new types of aviation equipment, including unmanned systems, weapons of air defense forces, modernized armored vehicles and communications equipment.
In addition, the head of state was informed about the ongoing work of the department on conscription for compulsory military service, measures aimed at improving the status and pay of military personnel.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the need to increase the potential of the Kazakh peacekeeping contingent to participate in missions under the auspices of the UN.
At the end of the meeting, the President set a number of tasks for the Minister on interaction with domestic defense enterprises, the development of territorial defense, special operations forces, and strengthening military-patriotic work.
