
A meeting took place between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu with the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov.
The parties exchanged views on upcoming events in our country planned within the framework of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the CSTO in 2024.
– Particular attention was paid to the consideration of a number of organizational issues of the upcoming meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, scheduled for June 2024. During the meeting, a wide range of issues were discussed in key areas of cooperation within the Organization, including the development of political interaction, countering challenges and threats, says the press release.
As is known, from January 1, 2024, the chairmanship of the CSTO passed to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The CSTO was created in 2002 and is an international regional organization, which, along with Kazakhstan, includes Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
