Head of State holds meeting with Chairman of Supreme Audit Chamber

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber Alikhan Smailov. During the meeting, key aspects of further improvement of the state audit and financial control system were discussed,El.kz reports.

As the President noted, the Supreme Audit Chamber is entrusted with the task of exercising strict control over the effective use of budget funds and state assets at all levels of management.

Alikhan Smailov informed about the plans of the department for the current year.

The President expressed confidence that the professional experience and qualification of Alikhan Smailov contribute to the high-quality implementation of the tasks assigned to the Chamber.

Kazakhstan's former prime minister Alikhan Smailov has been appointed chairman of the country's Supreme Audit Chamber, Trend reports.

The relevant decree was signed by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Earlier, Natalya Godunova was relieved of the above post by Tokayev’s decree.

To note, the Supreme Audit Chamber of Kazakhstan carries out external state audit and financial control and is directly subordinate and accountable to the president of the country, according to Trend.
