Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CLASS Group Katrina Klass-Mühlhäuser.
The parties discussed prospects for further deepening economic cooperation. As the head of state stated, Germany is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union.
During the negotiations, positive trends in the development of trade and economic relations and the growing interest of German business in expanding their presence in Kazakhstan were noted.
The President emphasized that last year, direct German investment in Kazakhstan increased by 64 percent, reaching a record high of $770 million.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to issues of cooperation in the agricultural sector. In this vein, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recalled his proposal to create a Regional Center for Sustainable Agriculture.
In his opinion, this center will contribute to a more complete use of the agricultural potential of our country, the introduction of innovative technologies and their commercialization.
In addition, the President highly appreciated the contribution of the CLASS assembly plant to the development of the agricultural potential of Kazakhstan.
