Russia's Sberbank said on Wednesday it had received an offer from BTA BTAS.KZ to take over the Kazakh bank, and that any deal would depend on the conditions.
"This does not mean that we are going for the deal. So far we have no reaction and everything will depend on the conditions," Sberbank head German Gref said.
A senior management team from Russia's biggest lender flew to Kazakhstan this week for talks over a potential takeover of the top Kazakh bank, sources said, according to Reuters.
