Almaty to Decrease Barriers for SMEs

Almaty Akim Ahmetzhan Yesimov, during a public city meeting reported yesterday on measures to decrease bureaucracy for small and medium-sized businesses to be undertaken in Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Today reports.
"As for a decrease in administrative barriers, according to the recommendation of the Business Council, the amount of time needed for the registration of property has been reduced from 19 to 12 days, and the cost of this service has been dropped from 26 to KZT 20 thousand, the time for opening enterprises has been decreased from 12 to 6 days, and the cost of this service - from 15 to KZT 11 thousand, procedures for receiving permit documents for construction have been dropped from 231 days to 81 days," Yesimov said.
As was reported earlier, a business council was created last year under the city akimat to bring together nearly all business associations in Almaty, according to Kazakhstan Today.
